Matalan hopes to energize sales with new promotion - tv advertising news
Matalan is to roll out a new marketing campaign next month that will provide five lucky consumers with a full year’s cover of their energy bills.
The clothing retailer has gone into partnership with The if agency in developing the promotion, which will run from January 5th until 26th February.

On top of having their 2012 energy bills paid for, the five winners will also be supplied with £600’s worth of Matalan vouchers, as well as the opportunity to nominate a local group or charity for free energy bills over the year. One of the five consumers chosen will ultimately see twenty households in their community receive full energy bill cover.

Those in possession of a Matalan reward card will be placed into the draw upon having their card swiped during in-store and online sales transactions.

The winners will be announced in early March, with the lucky five and their chosen groups receiving the rewards at a prize-giving event in their local stores.

Matalan is to launch the campaign as a means of communicating to customers its understanding of the financial constrictions that are set to besiege 2012. The brand hopes to bolster the trust between buyer and seller, increasing sales as a result.

Indeed, a spokesperson at Matalan said when reflecting on the launch: “We are very conscious that our customers maybe finding things tough – thanks to rising bills and a squeeze on spending. We want the promotion to help people and their communities in a real and tangible way so we’re very excited about its launch and the impact it will have.”
